About this deal
For added convenience, the 412GW has an automatic recording function that starts and stops recording as you drive. This eliminates the need for manual operation and ensures that you capture all important moments on the road. It also has a loop recording feature, which overwrites the oldest footage when the memory card is full, ensuring continuous recording without interruption.
The 4-metre cable is long enough to be trailed neatly through door seals and around the windscreen for a very tidy installation. The alternative is a hard-wired wiring set up; hooking the power mount into the ignition circuit and keeping the wires out of sight. Note that this article has been written about the older Nextbase 112 and 412GW models, visit our latest productsNextbase 122 and 422GW Dash Cam for our latest dash cam features. Plug your Dash Cam in. Ensure the cable is plugged directly into the dash cam and NOT via the mount. It also has intelligent parking mode that will monitor your vehicle when not in use and record any movements it detects. We recommend the official Nextbase hardwire kit for this to prevent your battery from draining.
Regarding the recording lengths, the camera will record continuously in small segments (1,2, or 3 minutes). It will record these segments consecutively until the SD card is full. Then the oldest piece of footage will be deleted and the newest will be saved in it's place. This will continue looping and is called Continuous Overwriting. The Dash Cam does this automatically to allow for more footage to be recorded and the old, unnecessary footage to be deleted without manual intervention. However Protected footage is not overwritten in the same way. These can fill the card and reduce the quantity of normal footage saved on your SD card. The 422GW has a camera resolution of 1440p, more commonly known as 2k. Whilst the camera does also offer 60fps, you will need to keep the resolution at 1080p to utilise this.Nextbase have reserved many of their best features for the 622GW which was announced later than the other devices in the Series 2 Dashcam range and only went on sale in 2020.
